Kendall Indian Hammocks Park Miami

Kendall Indian Hammocks Park, a sizable park in a suburban region, which opened in 2011, is both a popular tourist spot and a highly valued natural area located in the middle of Greater Miami.

The diverse and active Kendall Indian Hammocks Park offers numerous recreational opportunities including three illuminated softball fields, a grassy soccer area, 36 holes of disc golf and a skate park for sports fans.

Nature enthusiasts can go birdwatching, hike along nature trails, or explore the hardwood hammock and surrounding 32-acre nature preserve.

The outdoor workout zone is equipped with age- and skill-appropriate, variable-tension exercise machines. Two family playgrounds are also available, one for children under the age of five and another for children ages five to twelve.

Taking its cue from famous public areas like Love Park in Philadelphia and the Embarcadero in San Francisco, the park’s 14,000-square-foot skate park is a big attraction.

In order to accommodate skaters of varying skill levels, the Kendall skate park features a variety of obstacles, including a vertical wall, grinding rails, and a number of different ramps. The skate park features shaded bleachers so fans can enjoy all the action.

Planning a BBQ and want to take advantage of the park’s natural setting? A total of five covered picnic shelters and one live oak-canopied picnic deck are available, with space for up to a hundred people in each.

There are barbecue grills, picnic tables, running water and power at each picnic location and reservations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

It is recommended to call the park in advance to verify its current regular business hours and the availability of its facilities.
