Pinecrest Gardens is located on the former grounds of Parrot Jungle, and the landscape and buildings from that time have been preserved. The U.S. Department of the Interior recognized the significance of the site in 2011 by designating it a National Historic Landmark and adding it to the National Register of Historic Places under the name Parrot Jungle Historic District.
Pinecrest Gardens, now known as the South Florida Cultural Arts Center, has grown to include a wide variety of cultural and community events, festivals, and private events throughout the year in addition to its expanding botanical gardens and attractions.

From October through April, Saturday evenings at Garden Cinema are dedicated to showing films specifically geared toward families.

Who Is The Mayor Of Pinecrest Miami
The Mayor of Pinecrest is Joseph Corradino who in 2016, was chosen to serve as the city of Pinecrest’s fourth mayor. He was a member of the Planning and Zoning Board for the Village for a period of four years prior to his election to the Village Council in 2006, where he served until 2014.
He graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and the University of Cincinnati with a Master of Science in Urban Planning.
